Aerospace materials and production technology are changing rapidly and continuously. The use of difficult-to-cut materials like titanium and carbon fiber reinforced plastic has increased due to industry demands for weight reduction, along with aluminum alloys.
Canela works closely with customers to deliver tools that meet stringent requirements and high safety standards, achieving significantly higher speeds and feed rates, along with increased power output for consistent results and longer tool life.
Railway wheel turning is characterized by the machining of large-volume components with significant depths of cut. The different types of trains result in wheels with highly varied characteristics and requirements. For turning new wheels, high-pressure cooled toolholders and inserts are available that allow machining the entire profile of any railway wheel, while for re-rotating wheels, specific shanks and inserts are available that enable machining worn wheels and restoring them to like-new condition.
Our range of cutting tools for heavy machining applications includes milling and turning products. Here, we focus on removing the first layer of material from large-scale forgings and castings.
Our regular customers are subcontractors who receive cast or forged blanks requiring tools capable of operating under very harsh conditions. We offer them all standard tools, custom tools, and tools with specific geometries for chip control and quality, ensuring reliable tool life and longevity.
Tool management is just as important as process optimisation. And so is having a partner who can make this process a reality. Through partnerships with these companies, we monitor trends, identify challenges and develop solutions that meet the most demanding applications in the industry.
Canela offers both cost-effective tooling solutions and reliable after-sales service, all from a single source. In the automotive industry, the only path to success lies in the combination of consistent component quality and high productivity.
The mould and die sector is very diverse and covers a wide range of components. These are often difficult-to-machine materials, requiring specialised tools for high feed machining and high volume material removal. In recent years, Canela has been continuously expanding its range of indexable inserts and integral tools, in order to offer the maximum number of solutions in the mould and die sector.
Some parts, due to their shape or form, require special machining solutions. Our machining engineers and technicians verify the use of custom-made special tools and combine them with optimized manufacturing processes, resulting in record machining times per part and a tangible increase in productivity.
Canela offers special tooling solutions, not only in the automotive, railway, aerospace or energy sectors, but also in the general engineering, mould construction, oil and gas industry sectors. Canela’s engineers continually create special and cost-effective solutions to customer challenges.
